Destined between D60 and D90, this new model placed as a mid-range slr from Nikon. The price for D5000 is closed to the pricing for D90. So there will be arguments whether to get this new D5000 or just skip this one for D90.




Feature wise, it got the same sensor as D90 as well as the 11-point autofocus, D-movie and 2.7inch swivel lcd which is hinged at the bottom end, different from the same from Panasonic and some other manufacturers.
